Nuclear Independence Day Essays - Nuclear Warfare, Nuclear Weapons

Nuclear Independence Day July 16th, 1945 the first A-bomb was discover until today, unclear weapon are playing a major part of the 20th century's most reliable military defense system. Throughout the past five decades or so, many strong military nations like United State, Soviet Union (USSR), China, France, England . . . seems very interesting to invest nuclear weapon than any other military weapon. It seems like a country without nuclear weapon wills no longer deserves the title of Great Power! A country is defenseless without nuclear protection. Over the last 50 years, nuclear weapons were developed that dwarfed the 1945 bombs in destructiveness, and major military powers stocked their arsenals with these arms. Every year the world spends 3,500 trillion dollars to restock their nuclear weapon power. Every year the world spends half trillion dollar to protect the weapon from unnecessarily exploration and stolen . . . From 1992-1996 total of 79 nuclear emergency research was recalled to NEST (Nuclear Emergency Search Team) for help. Term like "Broken Arrow", "Red Six" and " Landlord Access Red" are becoming the most common nuclear weapon warning recall used in NEST and NASA . . . The explosive power of a nuclear weapon comes from nuclear fission or nuclear fusion, or both--in the case of the HYDROGEN BOMB. A typical small nuclear weapon has the explosive yield of tens of thousands of tons (kilotons) of the conventional explosive TNT; a large nuclear weapon might have the yield of a million tons (megatons) of TNT or more. A single nuclear weapon can kill hundreds of thousands of people, and when carried on a ballistic missile, can travel intercontinental distances in less than half an hour. The deployment of tens of thousands of these weapons, primarily by the United States and the Soviet Union, has threatened annihilation with little or no warning. The devastating effects of nuclear weapons, however, may actually have deterred their use. Strategic (long-range) nuclear weapons include land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs), and the bombs and cruise missiles carried on long-range bombers. Many strategic ballistic missiles carry multiple warheads, called MIRVed missiles. Tactical nuclear weapons are shorter-range weapons allocated for regional use or for use in support of battlefield operations. France, Great Britain, and China each have small but significant nuclear arsenals, which include both strategic and tactical nuclear weapons. Israel is reported to have about 100 nuclear weapons. Other countries--India, South Africa, and Pakistan-- have the capability to make nuclear weapons. Iraq, Iran, and North Korea reportedly have made efforts to develop nuclear weapons. .. During the end of World War II, in November 1945 President Harry S. Truman decided to allow the bombs to be dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki because, he said, he believed they might save thousands of American lives. For maximum psychological impact, they were used in quick succession, one over Hiroshima on August 6, and the other over Nagasaki on August 9. These cities had not previously been bombed, and thus the bombs' damage could be accurately assessed. U.S. estimates put the number killed in Hiroshima at 66,000 to 78,000 and in Nagasaki at 49,000. Japanese estimates gave a combined total of 240,000. In 1960 Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev launched plans to supply Cuba with medium- and intermediate-range ballistic missiles that would put the eastern United States within range of nuclear missile attack. Khrushchev mistakenly assumed that the United States would take no action and when questioned denied that any missiles were being supplied to Cuba. By the summer of 1962, U.S. spy planes flying over Cuba had photographed Soviet-managed construction work and spotted the first ballistic missile on October 14. U.S. president John F. Kennedy consulted secretly with advisers, discussing options: invasion, air strikes, a blockade, or diplomacy. On October 22, Kennedy announced a naval blockade to prevent the arrival of more missiles. He demanded that the USSR dismantle and remove the weapons and declared a quarantine zone around Cuba, within which U.S. naval forces would intercept and inspect ships to determine whether they were carrying weapons. The United States was supported by other members of the Organization of American States. For several tense days Soviet vessels en route to Cuba avoided the quarantine zone, and Khrushchev and Kennedy communicated through diplomatic channels. Khrushchev wavered in his position, sending a message on October 26 in which he agreed to Kennedy's demands to remove all missiles, and then the following day he tried to negotiate other terms. Kennedy responded to the first communication, and on October 28, Khrushchev agreed to dismantle and remove the weapons from

Business Financing and the Capital Structure Essay - 3

Business Financing and the Capital Structure - Essay Example The debt financing is welcome in many cases in which the loaned amount can be easily repaid back by the borrower. In addition to this debt also provides advantage to the companies that have opted for debt. Mostly the companies in the later stages go in for debt financing. The Equity financing method is the process in which the companies use the method of raising capital by selling company stocks to the investors. While in debt, financing the company does not have to share any ownership with the creditors but in the equity financing the shareholders are given the ownership of the shares of the company. The equity shares capital is usually opted for in the initial starting of the company when there are no cash inflows or revenues. The company to entice the investors who have an appetite for risks alongside the entrepreneur who has started the business uses equity financing. In today’s business ground where the debt is costly because the ability to repay debt is highly essential, the companies should maintain a debt to equity ratio of 1:1 or 1:2. The 1:1 ratio of debt to equity means that debt and equity should be of the same amount where as the 1:2 ratio suggests that the same amount to debt should have double amount of equity. Thus, the decision of choosing debt financing or equity financing should be based on the stage of progress of the business. If the business is in the startup stage when the cash inflows and the revenues are scarce, the company should definitely go for generation of fresh equity capital. Where as in the later stages of the company when it has started acquiring cash inflows it should opt for debt financing. There is another problem involved in the starting up position of the company where if the company does not show a strong profit creating potential then it would not attract any strong investors or venture capitalists who

The law relating to non-fatal offences against the person is in urgent Essay

The law relating to non-fatal offences against the person is in urgent need of reform - Essay Example The law relating to non-fatal offences against the person is in urgent need of reform Some words have been interpreted in case laws, for instance, the term malicious which is used in Section 20 and 18 is not defined by the Act but courts have defined it as mens rea in section 20 and â€Å"with intent† in Sec 18. Assault, battery, grievous bodily harm and actual bodily harm are some non-fatal offenses which are contained in Section 18, 20 and 47 of the Offenses Against Persons Act 18612. Generally, offenses against a person refer to any crime which is committed by use of physical harm or force against the victim. Non-fatal offenses include assault, poisoning, wounding and inflicting grievous bodily harm, and battery. Wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm is a crime according to Sec 18 of Offenses Against a Person Act 1861 while administering poison is offense which is outlawed by Sec 24 of the same Act3. The law has not defined the word malicious which is contained in Sec 18 and 20. The law should be reformed to give a proper definition of malicious which in simple language may refer to bad motive of the offender. Conflicting arguments about mens rea have also been witnessed. Sec 47 of the Act provides the same mens rea as for lesser offenses such as a battery or assault. The law in this case is inconsistent since it not a requirement for the offender to realize the risk of injury and liability will arise even when the offender causes grievous body harm that result to minor harm . 4. The law is also inconsistent in the sentencing structure on the maximum sentence attached to each offense. For instance, offenses under Sec 39 of the Act carries a maximum imprisonment term of six months while an offense under Sec 47 provides for a maximum of five years imprisonment5. Mens rea which is equivalent in both Sec 39 and Sec 47 of the Act leads to variations in the sentence thus unjust. Sec 20 offenses of the Act are considered to cause more injury yet they carry the same imprisonment sentence as sec 47 offenses. According to justice and fairn ess principles of the legal systems, offenders should be morally distinguishable and be treated in a different manner depending on their motive of committing the crime. The Offenses Against the Person Act 1861, is completely outdated since it does not reflect the current social structure. New forms of communication, diseases and methods of committing crime have not been catered for in the law. For instance, Sections 18, 20 and 47 of the Act use the common word â€Å"bodily harm† which leaves psychological injury that the victim may suffer due to fear or medical complications due to transmission of diseases such HIV. For instance, Sec 18 of the Act makes it offense wounding and causing grievous bodily harm with intention to the victim, but it fails to give a clear definition of injury. However, courts have been of the opinion that injury should constitute both physical and any mental injury sustained by the person including unconsciousness, pain, and impairment of the mental a bility of the person. Sec 20, which makes it offense to wound or inflict grievous bodily harm and Sec 39 on common law assault and battery does not define the nature of injury which can result from the reckless or intentional application of force to the victim6. The law on mens rea of battery needs urgent reforms. The prosecution should prove the unlawful application of force to the other person or the recklessness of the offender in his or her actions. Sec 47

Managment Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words - 2

Managment - Essay Example Managers also need to draft a comprehensive time schedule over which the project implementation process will strictly follow. This will ensure that activities are all executed within the specified periods. This will also ensure that the project is completed within the set time schedule. Proper allocation of resources is also required, in planning, to ensure that workers are not pushed around departments in search for resources (Pinto 57). Proper allocation of resources, in a different department, will also ensure that different departments exist independently, but co-exist with other departments for mutual benefits. In addition, constant rewarding of workers is a necessity in improving their efficiency and performance. A functional organization, planning to transform into a supportive and interactive culture from adversarial culture, needs to consider a number of factors. In the first place, the organization should begin by setting up a corporate wide vision, which aims at motivating and uniting workers (Pinto 58). Secondly, they have to establish a punishment or reward system that is in accordance with their vision. Lastly, such firms need to formulate unambiguous policies that are in line with communication and authority (Pinto 59). This is significant in making fast and efficient

Also whirlpool is the first and only home Appliance Company which creates an e-commerce website (whirlpool.ma) to sell their product in morocco. The Moroccan customer is able to know the real price and buying on-line the specific product he like ,and whirlpool provide to the Moroccan customers accessories Unlike other competitors(FAGOR,LG). Whirlpool is present in 23 cities with 122 retailers (32 in Casablanca) no other competitor are providing in their websites about there retailers like whirlpool do. All products of WHIRLPOOL Morocco are guaranteed for 1 year, from the date of purchase. But LG products are guaranteed for 10 years (MARJAN supermarket). Whirlpool is sensitive to their customers needs and requests by building a Service Center for the customers where they can Complaint about problems they have with the product .also they can Complaint by sending e-mails or by phone call. The price of whirlpool washing machine start from 3949 MAD (AWE 6316, 5kg) to 11499 MAD (MAXY 13S, 13kg),so the customers of whirlpool are middle class society and upper class society. Whirlpool Maroc is the only company that provide the customer with wash machine that have Aquasteam system and Microban treatment. Whirlpool provides the wash machine market with 16 models of wash machines. According to Mourad Alem  ,DG of whirlpool Maroc (whirlpool.ma,2011).the mean objective of whirlpool Maroc is to sustain a 10% progression of sells every year by renew each year between 35 and 40% of it offers. 4. SWOT Analysis According to (marketingteacher.com, 2011) The SWOT analysis is a technique that is used to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the business and determine the opportunities and threats that the business might face. Here under, the SWOT analysis of whirlpool Maroc I got based on analyzing information token from the whirlpool morocco website and research made in MARJAN California supermarket: Strengths: -The long history of the company (100 years). This can be used to show that the company is specialized on home appliance and know how to make a good product. Good relationships between the staff. Customers care. Good services. Qualified staff. -Good prices for product and Accessories. -Beautiful design. -Innovative technology 6TH SENSE. Weaknesses: -Weak marketing strategy in morocco. Brand awareness in Morocco: only one spot TV for the wash machine and doesnt consider the culture and the society customs and behavior because this spot TV is made in France and they just copy and past it on the national TV publicity, Also no publicity in newspaper and magazines. -No sponsoring for other sport, event or famous Moroccan people and only sponsoring tennis and BAHIA MOUHTASSINE. Opportunities: Weak competition with local companies (no existence of national companies which made home appliances.) Free trade agreement between THE UNITED STATES and morocco . Moroccan people start using internet for shopping. The equipment rate of washing machines is about 45% according to Mourad Alem, DG of whirlpool Maroc (whirlpool.ma, 2011). Threats: High competition with big companies like: SAMSUNG, FAGOR, LG, BRANDT, ROYAL, ELECTROLUX. Random shocks, (political, social or natural events) such as: Boycotting the brand because it is a USA product. Changes in government policy, (the government may use a contraction monetary policy to prevent inflation which will effect the business). -The purchasing power of the customer. 5. Marketing strategy, Aims and Objectives As defined on the Philip Kotler and Kevin l. Keller book (Marketing Management 12 ed., 2006), the marketing strategy, aims and objectives is what unique position will the company be able to achieve. A marketing strategy is about the designed marketing plan to achieve a certain marketing objectives; there might be some objectives like becoming the market leader. The strategic plan here is a planning with details includes a marketing research, and next evaluating a marketing mix to become the leader. Every company needs to have marketing objectives to work on and achieve the strategy. In a marketing strategy, time is everything as long as the company takes the advantage to plan, to distribute, and to develop. (part1, chapter2, Developing Marketing Strategies and Plans.p35) In morocco whirlpool Maroc based its main advertising program on sponsoring the Moroccan tennis player BAHIA MOHTASSIN. This is publicity for the 10th anniversary of whirlpool Maroc in Morocco in association with Bahia Mouhtassine N °1 Moroccan womens tennis player. The other thing, the whirlpool Maroc marketing strategy is based also by providing product such as a washing machine which is designed as an environmental friendly product in accordance to customer expectations. This product line is named Green Generation which is specified by 4 characteristics: Reduce your consumption of energy 10% less electricity consumption compared to the energy label class A. 6TH SENSE technology is an innovation made by whirlpool engineers. The Power of Steam. The objective is to gain competitive advantage and sustain their leadership especially over the wash machine market and other component of home appliance market in general. IV. Recommendations 1. Segmentation Targeting Whirlpool Maroc (whirlpool.ma, 2011) is using a demographic segmentation such as: social class segment, income segment, also taking in consideration geographic segmentation. The Moroccan consumers have evolved in the last few years; they are expressing the need of washing their cloth with less energy and efficiently with good price and most of all eco-friendly. They also want customized washing machines such as washing machines that have different colours and designs. The target market that the company is targeting is composed of people who want to participate in the process that the world is adopting to protect the environment. Indeed whirlpool Maroc is segmenting a middle class and upper class with medium income and plus .targeting them with 16 model of washing machines with prices starting from 3949 MAD (AWE 6316, 5kg) to 11499 MAD (MAXY 13S, 13kg) and including characteristics made for the benefit of the consumer: 6th sense and Aquasteam technology, low consumption of energy and well designed. Also with a large number of stores (122) located in different locations (23 cities) allow Store managers to stock products that suits the local community (MARJAN, ACIMAà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦etc) covering the entire territory of Morocco kingdom. In my opinion whirlpool Maroc should target the lower class in the society with economic washing machines. For example a washing machine with low load (5 kg and less) with cheap price under 2000 MAD (200à ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬). 2. The marketing mix 2.1 Product: Whirlpool Maroc (whirlpool.ma) is offering 16 washing machines with modern design, 2 color whit and gray, load starting from 5kg to 13kg, and integrating 5 characteristic which are the main characteristics of the Green Generation product line: Reduce the consumption of energy by 40% (compared to a unit of energy class A), optimizing the chemical action and enhancing the mechanical action of the cycle, for a perfect washing result. Whirlpool washing machines are making an effort for the environment, 10% less electricity consumption compared to the energy label class A. With this chemical treatment, whirlpool washing machine stays cleaner, fresher and more hygienic for longer. with Microban (a leader in antibacterial solutions), Whirlpool has developed a special treatment that helps reduce bacterial growth, odors and mould in the detergent drawer, a particularly sensitive part of the washing machine . The 6th sense ensures perfect wash results in continuously optimizing the energy consumed the amount of water and washing time. 6TH SENSE technology recognizes the size of the load by special sensors, and automatically adjusts resources, savings up to 50% on energy, water and time. The load is continuously monitored throughout the wash cycle and ensuring optimal washing performance. Uses the natural power of steam to gently eliminate the toughest stains and sanitize the clothes, even at low temperatures. The steam injected into the drum to maintain a constant temperature for longer, thus increasing the efficiency of washing. The steam relaxes the smooth fibers and allows the detergent to penetrate more deeply into your clothes to remove the toughest stains. As recommendation I believe that whirlpool will have more market share if it produces washing machines that can be transportable, with a low load under 5kg to take it to a camping for example. Also by providing washing machines with more colors, so the customer can fit it with his interior home design and why not try to give the customer more than 1 year of warranty. Finally whirlpool should explore the market of heavy washing machines with load more than 13kg like the company LG (www.lg.com/ma, 2011) did with the LG F12588FD with 15kg of load. 2.2 Price: Like The vast majority of companies, whirlpool Maroc (whirlpool.ma, 2011) is developing Product line and use price steps. Indeed whirlpool Maroc washing machines have the price (out promotion) starting from 3949 MAD (AWE 6316, 5kg) to 11499 MAD (MAXY 13S, 13kg). As recommendation I think that whirlpool Maroc will increase it profit by following the Optional Feature Pricing(Neil H. Borden,1965), for example: decreasing the price of the washing machine but once the customer like the product, the sales assistance convince him of spending more money to get more Features such as customising the wash machine to fit the kitchen wall color or to buy a chemical treatment to clean the washing machine from outside and reducing the rate of that the washing machine get rusty . Finally I think that whirlpool Maroc will decries the prices if it build it factories in morocco and benefit from the Political, Economical, Social, Technological, Legal and Environmental factor of the country.(see appendix) 2.3Place: Whirlpool is present in 23 cities with 122 retailers such as supermarkets (MARJAN, ACIMA) and home appliances stores (BIOUGNASH, LE COMPTOIR, CRAMER) and that is covering the entire territory of morocco. However, I think that whirlpool Maroc should take in consideration the traditional markets called souk such as: derb ghalef, souk anamoudaji. 2.4Promotion: Whirlpool Maroc (whirlpool.ma, 2011) is promoting with only one spot TV a year and 5 companions presses this last 10 years about washing machine .whirlpool Maroc also launched a website (whirlpool.ma), sponsoring the woman tennis player BAHIA MOUHTASSINE, made Partnership with Helga Heidrich SOS animals foundation and HABITAT FOR HUMANITY association, and occasionally decries price of it product in some event such as week of price cut in supermarkets and home appliances stores. Observing the marketing communication of whirlpool Maroc, I think that whirlpool Maroc will have more impact and will made powerful brand awareness in the Moroccan society if whirlpool made more than 1 spot TV a year and more companion press taking in consideration on these advertising the characteristics of the Moroccan culture and society , also sponsoring other sport and Athletes such as soccer, basket ball, golf, and be more social by creating partnership with orphans association such as BAYTY and MOHAMED V foundation. In addition 2.5People: According too Whirlpool Maroc (whirlpool.ma, 2011) their employees must be creative, take risks and be modest with the customer. They are women and men of different nationalities, cultures, backgrounds and sensibilities and they bring to Whirlpool different views and work together around a common goal. Whirlpool Maroc future relies on innovative thinking and intelligent action. Whirlpool Maroc offers them the opportunity to work in multicultural teams and diverse including teamwork and mutual respect are an integral part of entrepreneurship. All that characteristics to have qualified stuff that can add value for the company and most of all satisfy the customer need with a good after sell service. In my opinion whirlpool has good relationship with the customer but it will be better if they launched a website in Arabic because according too (HCP.ma, 2011) only a minority in morocco who can speak and read French even if its our second language. 2.6Process: When I have visited MARJAN supermarket, I found that the salesman was kind and qualified also that Home Delivery was for free .but to obtain the warranty you should register your washing machine by your self in the website of whirlpool Maroc. So I suggest that it will be more efficient if the consumer can register the product in the same place not to go home and register it. 2.7Physical evidence: I liked the idea that you can test the machine before take it home. What I suggest for whirlpool Maroc is to protect the body of the washing machines with Plastic Film, because people keep hitting it with their supermarket carts. Its a picture I took in MARJAN supermarket .in the right: whirlpool MAXY 13S (13kg). In the left: LG F12588FD (15kg). V. Conclusion In conclusion I think that whirlpool Maroc has good position among it competitors ,but I think also that whirlpool Maroc has to make some effort to sustain this leadership position by introducing some factors to it marketing strategy which will add some value to the company product and have more brand awareness in the future.

The Industrial Revolution for the Disabled :: Essays Papers

The Industrial Revolution for the Disabled In this new age of Internet and the World Wide Web, everything is accessible. If you needed up to date news, research, or entertainment; just go online. Everyday people take this choice for granted, maybe by ignorance or by stupidity, but a small, ever-growing population don't have these choices. The disabled have overcome many pregitouses and were once regarded as mentally and physically retarded. But recently, a number of organizations have recognized the need for the disabled to achieve ultimate web accessibility. Of course, ultimate won't be achieved for a long time, but some accessiblility is better than none. The Americans with Disabilities Act has already come up with accessibility requirements that the Federal Government has adopted. (Applicability of... 2000) Aol has changed it's format due to a law suit by the National Federation for the blind. (Applicability of... 2000) Not only are public sectors changing their websites, but many private sectors are as well (Applicability of... 2000) "To ensure individuals with disabilities have full and equal enjoyment of the facilities they provide when the provision of such access is measureable. (Applicability of... 2000) Assistive Technology "Assistive Technology is any device, piece of equipment, of software that is used to help a person with a disability or impairment, reach full functional capacity. Some examples of high-tech assistive technology include voice recognition systems, voice synthesis, large print display, braille embossing, and alternative computer input devices." (University of Iowa) Some statistics on the widespread concern of developers for accessible websites include:"50 million people in the U.S. have some kind of functional limitation. 15% of those cannot use a computer without some form of assistive technology and about 8% of those who use the Web have disabilities." (McKeefy 1998) As research shows the internet is bringing a world of information to users with disabilities, but adversely, it is difficult for vision impaired people to access a multimedia-rich site. (McKeefy 1998) New equipment for the sight-impaired are now available, but one might think it is only available to people with money. According to Greg Meise, President of Lenexa (a Kansas based reseller), "'Declining technology prices now have made these products available to a wider audience. Affordability has changed the market.'" (McKeefy 1998) The prices of these special technologies have dropped and impaired users have an option of mixed technologies. (McKeefy 1998) Awareness The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) has set up requirements for the internet to make web sites accessible for people with disabilities.

Max’s Burger Case Study Essay

Case Summery Max’s Burger is an emerging American fast-food chain with franchised outlet across the world. Nassar group bought the franchise rights of Max’s Burger outlet in Dubai. There were many fast-food outlet of franchised restaurants in Dubai, among them Max’s Burger’s meat quality was lower standard. As Nassar group didn’t want to jeopardize their reputation. The ordered the warehouse manager to decline any frozen food shipment that doesn’t meet the franchise standard. When the shipment came, the frozen meat temperature was little bit off which would not risk customer’s health but would affect the food taste. Though the manager didn’t considered the little mismatch of the temperature before, now he is having second thoughts. Question-1: Does the decision to accept or refuse the frozen meat shipment call for ethical or legal considerations? Why? Answer: Yes , the decision to accept or refuse the frozen meat shipment call for ethical or legal consideration. As we have seen in this case there is an ethical consideration regarding temperature problem. The temperature of the frozen meat delivered to the Max’s burgers didn’t match the government’s standard. If they accept it they will break the law. Though the deviation is little, but it puts a question on this ethical issues. Question-2: Identify the stakeholders who will be influenced by the decision to accept or refuse to the frozen meat shipment? Answer: Both Nassar group and the company supplying the meat are the stakeholders who will be influenced by the decision to accept or refuse the frozen meat shipment. If Nasaar group accept the frozen meat shipment, their sale may be decreased as a result of inconsistency.

CHILD ABUSE 1 Essay

CHILD ABUSE 1 Essay CHILD ABUSE 1 Essay CHILD ABUSE 1 (JOURNAL 2) In church I normally talk to people on the basic of one to one. Some people love to talk about what they are going through and some, what they are planning to do. But we have some of the people who are comfortable speaking to the other leaders. On the second Sunday on the month in January one particular lady come to me and shared with me what she said she had never shared with anybody in her life. She said this inner pain has been in her since she was six years old. She explained how she was sexually abused by her uncle and was warned not to mention anything to anybody. This went on for four years until she threaten her uncle that she was going to tell her mother if he was not going to stop. Her mother was busy working to make ends meet for her and her siblings. She indeed managed to put a stop but she never knew that what happened to her at that younger age would be something tormenting her everyday. She said she would remember it every day of her life, and the more she thought abou t it the more she felt bad about it. Her experience explained to me about her attitude around people. She was always on her own and would not want to mingle with other people. I spoke to her by relating to Joyce Myers incident, where her own father was the one who abused her but she choose to forgive her father and move on. She told me she never thought that she would share it with anybody but it was destroying her from the inside. I met with her counselling her and praying for healing and also talking to her about forgiving. This was not easy, as she thought nobody would believe her story after many years. I asked her if she would be a help to the other parents, and share her incident so that mothers would be careful with their daughters. She accepted and I gave her chance to testify for few minutes during our ladies meeting in which she did and

Free Essays on The Significance Of The Resurrection

The significance of the resurrection is often over shadowed by Easter and a bunch of rituals. And the question is of how many people actually know the true meaning and significances of it all. One of the most significant things about the resurrection was that Jesus claimed to be the son of god and through his resurrection he basically proofed his claim. At the sight of our lords a solider exclaimed, â€Å"truly this was the son of god† (Mark15:39)also Jesus was raised , to which we are all witnesses. â€Å"Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christthis Jesus whom you crucified† (Acts 2:23-24, 32-33, 36). Now that we have establish that Jesus Christ was the son of god we can look at another aspect as to how the resurrection of him was significant to the world. The death of Christ was significant to the world because it was a part of God’s eternal plan that Christ would die as an innocent sacrificial lamb, as a substitute payment for the sins of men. The sacrifices of the Old Testament system anticipated Him who was to come as the â€Å"Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world† (John 1:29; cf. I Cor. 5:7). From eternity past, Christ was designated as the perfect sacrifice, without spot or blemish, whose death could thus atone for the sins of others (Is. 53; Heb. 9:11-14).This sacrifice was necessary because man himself was born into sin. Even if any man had wanted to, he could not offer himself in payment for his sins, for his sin had disqualified him from being an acceptable sacrifice. Consequently, the Old Testament provided for the offering of certain select animals whose blood was shed vicariously for the sins of those who repented and trusted God's revelation. The death of our Lord alone would not have sufficed, since it is by our identification with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection that we are saved. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood... Prosady and Poetic Devices Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words - 1

Prosady and Poetic Devices - Assignment Example It is evidently clear from the discussion that the former consists of what it literally is as well as something a little more abstract that stands for the same thing; the latter is when the word is used for what it stands for. Extended metaphors are metaphors that are drawn out beyond just the typical word. It usually extends itself throughout the stanza or the entire length of the poem. This is done by using more than one comparison between the different objects or concepts. While an allegory can sometimes be considered an extended metaphor, it is even rarer when trying to view it the other way around. It depends entirely on how constant the comparisons are within the poem itself. A symbol is the representation of another object through the use of graphics, the written word, and vocal or physical objects. These symbols are complex and abstract, and they usually present another concept that is even more abstract than the symbol itself. Symbolism is one of the most common poetic devic es, as well as a device often seen in regular forms of literature. Symbols are used when trying to display a concept without the author saying straight forwardly what they are trying to convey to their readers. It is important to include Historical Fiction in a schools curriculum that is written from more than one perspective and is culturally accurate because it allows students to see the different sides from an event that took place. Many historical pieces become biased based on which side they would have represented, making the opposing side into something horrible that it is not. Furthermore, in terms of being biased, sometimes the story is not told as it really went. Some authors twist the story around to make the losing side the winner, especially if they are representative of that winning side.

Improving Communication - The China Context Essay

Improving Communication - The China Context - Essay Example As the report declares in today’s fast paced environment and the age of electronic communication, messages sent, take on a whole new meaning by the time they reach the recipient. This gets aggravated even further when messages are relayed between differing cultures and social settings. Globalization after all, has had a profound impact on the business world of the 21st century. It is no longer possible for countries to conduct their businesses in isolation. This paper stresses that a global code of general ethics and basic business communication is increasingly being accepted by all countries, regardless of the diversity of their cultures. In this way, the principles of democracy in business have become applicable to all countries from the West to the East of the world. Communication theories like the conduit metaphor and the narrative paradigm, provide a useful insight into what goes on in an ineffective communication and how one can make it more transparent. The theory assumes that successful communication has occurred when the receiver objectively interprets the sender’s intention and meaning behind the information sent. This implies that information that is put into the right words will be easily communicable. Any extraneous information that follows the correct message can thus be eliminated as unwanted â€Å"noise†. The idea of objective interpretation does not hold ground. Discussed below are some situations that thw art the idea of objective interpretation.
